A dual-coil motor in a rotating disc dial placed at 9 o'clock moves the dial blades and exudes a functional beauty. In addition to the alarm on/off function and using the rotation to show the stopwatch, etc., it also functions as a battery indicator,

Built not to break
A module that floats
Inside a hollow case, the module (the heart of the watch) seems to float, so knocks from outside are softened before they reach it. The idea came from watching children play with a rubber ball.
Tough Solar
A thin, film-like solar panel is fitted into the dial around the display, and it turns even weak light, such as from fluorescent lamps, into power.

G-SHOCK began with a dropped watch. Casio designer Kikuo Ibe saw a watch break when it fell, and proposed “a durable watch that would not break even if dropped”.
