A 60-minute chronograph measuring to a single second and a date calendar sit beneath protective mineral crystal glass, giving the dial purpose without clutter. Powered by the light-driven Eco-Drive calibre H500, it never needs a battery change and holds around five months of reserve when fully charged. About Citizen
Citizen traces its roots to the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, set up in 1918 to make Japanese timepieces. Its first pocket watch was completed in 1924 and named CITIZEN by Tokyo mayor Count Shinpei Goto, in the hope that it would be loved by the citizens for many years. Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. was established in 1930, and in 1952 it introduced the first Japanese-made watch with a calendar.
