A deep black dial carries luminous hands and indices, a 60-minute chronograph, a 24-hour subdial and a date display, framed by a fixed tachymeter bezel. Mineral crystal glass protects the face while the light-powered Eco-Drive calibre H500 runs without a battery, holding roughly 150 days of reserve. The matching stainless steel bracelet closes with a folding clasp, and 100 metre water resistance keeps it ready for daily wear. About Citizen
Citizen traces its roots to the Shokosha Watch Research Institute, set up in 1918 to make Japanese timepieces. Its first pocket watch was completed in 1924 and named CITIZEN by Tokyo mayor Count Shinpei Goto, in the hope that it would be loved by the citizens for many years. Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. was established in 1930, and in 1952 it introduced the first Japanese-made watch with a calendar.
