A date that sets itself
Casio's first watch, the 1974 Casiotron, had the world's first watch calendar that adjusted itself for longer and shorter months, so the date never needed resetting at the start of a month.

World time first came to a Casio wrist in 1976 with the X-1, which added a stopwatch at the same time.

About Casio
Casio's story starts in April 1946, when Tadao Kashio set up Kashio Seisakujo, a small factory in Mitaka, Tokyo, making microscope parts and gears. In June 1957 it became Casio Computer Co., Ltd., built around the 14-A, the world's first compact all-electric calculator. That calculator know-how led Casio to watches: Toshio Kashio's view was that a watch simply adds up seconds.
