2019 Seiko 5 Collection Arrives!
24th Sep 2019

"Seiko 5" has been synonymous for reliable and durable Japanese-made automatic timepieces since 1963, and the collection has developed a loyal following - deservedly so.
The Seiko Sportmatic 5 was first released in 1963 and it was the first every automatic day-date watch from Japan. The ‘5’ represented the promise that every Seiko 5 watch would have five key attributes:
- an automatic movement
- a day-date display at the three o’clock position
- water resistance
- a recessed crown at the four o’clock position
- a case and bracelet built for durability
Five years later, the Seiko 5 Sports was born, satisfying the demand for a watch that could be worn whilst playing sports. The watch did not disappoint, introducing greater water resistance, a strengthened crystal and luminous hands and markers.
Exhibiting the same core values, the Seiko 5 Sports collection has been reborn for 2019 and is sure to delight fans. Its refreshed design and 27 different variations cover five core styles:
These watches all feature new dials with three-dimensional hour markers and a wide range of straps and bracelets. Under the hood is the workhorse 4R36 automatic calibre, with 24 jewels, optional manual winding, 41 hours of power reserve and a hacking second hand. |
The new symbol symbolises both Seiko 5 and Sports. |
Watch Direct proudly stock the new collection, with most models are now available for immediate shipment from our facility in Sydney. The pieces come with Seiko's 3 Year Australian and New Zealand Warranty and 1 Year International Warranty.
